Botox Treatments

Botox Treatments

Botox injections are used to treat wrinkles and fine lines such as forehead lines, frown lines & crows feet. Botulinum Toxin has been used in hospitals around the UK since 1977 and within the cosmetic industry for over 30 years. It is now used in more than 70 countries with millions of treatments worldwide.

Dr Macmillan will use Botox anti wrinkle injections: the original product on the market with a large emphasis on safety. It is the result of years of studies and has been used extensively in medicine. This particular brand of botulinum toxin was first cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1989, making it the first approved form of wrinkle injection, in the world to target wrinkles and fine lines. Botox injections are a natural, purified protein used to temporarily relax facial muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles. This injectable treatment is an established brand name and can also be used to treat conditions like hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and even a wide jaw.

Within the NHS, Botox is used to treat conditions including eye squints, neck spasms, migraine, back ache, cerebral palsy, bladder instability and anal fissures.
Dr Macmillan uses only Botox and not other cheaper brands (which have different safety profiles and may wear off faster).

Cosmetic treatments include

  • frown lines
  • crows feet
  • forehead lines
  • gummy smile
  • neck bands (platysmal bands)
  • Nefertiti jaw definition
  • sweating (under arms, hands, brow and head)
  • wide jaw

Facial wrinkles can be reduced or removed by injections of Botox. I use only the top of the range product made by Allergan – the only Botulinum toxin that can genuinely be called Botox. It has the best safety profile and lasts the longest in my view, giving you the best results.
