I graduated in 1991 from Dundee Medical School (MBChB) and in 11 years of postgraduate work and study in Tayside and Edinburgh gained the medical qualifications of Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (MRCP), Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA), Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (DICM), Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FFICM) and Medical Doctorate (MD).

Background

I grew up in Leuchars, near St Andrews in Fife. Madras College was my local school and from there I went to the University of Dundee to study Medicine in 1986. I am a local medical expert working in Ninewells Hospital Dundee, having graduated from Dundee University in 1991 as a medical doctor (MBChB). My postgraduate training in Edinburgh and Tayside earned me my Consultant status and for the last 15 years I have served Tayside as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and in Intensive Care Medicine. The high level of skills required to perform anaesthesia, epidural anaesthesia, spinal and nerve blocks, along with a detailed knowledge of facial anatomy, pharmacology and physiology have allowed me to transfer these skills to facial appearance medicine and aesthetics, such as treating sweating.

Why come to see me?

Quite simply, there is no one more qualified or well practiced in the area. In addition to being an NHS Consultant at Ninewells Hospital, I am registered and regulated by HIS (Health Improvement Scotland). Patients come to see me and travel from as far away as London, Manchester, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh. I have been improving looks of my patients for nearly 15 years using fillers such as Juvederm, Voluma, Volbella and Volift. I use Botox (only the genuine one from Allergan as the others probably don’t last as long and may have more side effects!).
I can help with ‘non-surgical nose job’, chemical peels (Obagi), 8-point face lift, the liquid face lift, Dermapen, chemical brow lift and facial contouring including subtle lip fillers and enhancement. I specialise in subtle, natural improvements, to restore your appearance and improve symmetry and proportion. Pushing back the years, lifting the face, reducing sagginess, improving lip volume and facial profile will help you appearance so you look more youthful and attractive for your age and so that your friends, family and peers will see a less tired, more fresh, vibrant and youthful you.

Aim

To make you look the best you can be. Enhance your good features and improve the areas you identify as problematic.

Medico-Legal Work

As an expert in appearance medicine I am regularly consulted by Legal firms to advise the Court on complications suffered by patients, and how to improve them.
